After a one-year break we met again at the Panenský Týnec airport, where the landkiting elite of the nation gathered. This year’s event was a little different than years before. Firstly, there was a perfect turnout, which was supported by a great weather forecast, secondly, it was an enriched program with a live band and a new discipline KITEWING longboard. The weather turned out to be perfect and on Saturday it was blowing up to 5 m/s all day in sunny conditions and on Sunday it got a bit more (towards 8-10 m/s) and cloudy.

It was done both days. On Saturday we did 4 buggy races, 4 MTB races and freestyle MTB. It has to be said that there were more riders and their performances improved in all aspects. The freestyle was really packed and you can see that the riders are blown out of the water. Beautiful, graceful and high “oldschool” tricks. Great show and a cheering crowd. That’s how it should be!

The party started at 8 o’clock with the nine-piece band Walband – trumpets, tuba, trombones, drums, vocals. Super party full of Balkan tones. The guys from Walbanda are no pseudo-artists, but most of them are musicians from the conservatory and have already had regular engagements in various bands such as the Czech Philharmonic. So we heard almost the best we could. Thank you.

On Sunday we started the day as planned at 8.30am, which was a scary morning for many after the evening party. However, there was a decent wind blowing and this, together with the amp on, spurred everyone into action. So off we went for the first event of the day, the first ever KITEWING race in the Czech Republic! Kitewing longboard race. Then followed 2 more buggy races and 2 MTB races. We are on a race and we are not going to slack off! At noon the results were announced and the festival started.
