FAQ - what you often ask

What if it doesn’t blow?

We can’t control the wind yet. However, we do our best to always hold our courses in windy weather. We use kites of sizes 1 – 18 qm, so that the lessons can take place safely in very strong winds and can also take place well in light winds. The kiters only need a wind of 1.5 m/s to drive themselves, using the largest kits. We organize courses well in advance, taking into account the current season and prevailing weather conditions. Just before the date of the course (usually 2-3 days), we evaluate the forecasts from several weather models and only then we finally confirm the course. If the course is several days long, it is better to choose one of the week-long courses abroad that our team organises several times a year. If the course will not be able to take place, due to wind or all-day rain, we will arrange an alternative date with you. You will definitely not lose your money.

Is a powerkiting, snowkiting, landkiting or kiteboarding course dangerous?

No, it’s not! In our courses, safety comes first. The teaching methodology is designed so that the progression of your skills in controlling different kites and the subsequent kite ride is always safe. The safe process of learning powerkiting is one of the reasons you are in the course.

Can children take part in the course?

Our courses can safely handle both a child and a fragile girl. For children under 15 years of age, we require the accompaniment of a legal guardian, and for children under 18 years of age, we require the permission of a legal guardian. The lowest age at which we recommend to start this sport is 7 years.

Can I bring an escort?

Of course. Any other accompanying person can come to the course with you as a spectator, photographer or cameraman.

How does such a course work?

The course consists of two main parts. Theoretical training and practical training. Theoretical training precedes practical training and takes about 1 hour. The rest of the time of your course is dedicated to flying. Practical training is supplemented by additional theory, necessary for the correct control of the kit. All under the supervision of our instructors. It is a good idea to bring a drink and a snack to the course.

What to wear? What to bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable sports clothes that you can get dirty. Sturdy, preferably ankle boots, cycling or winter gloves, sunglasses are essential. Even in warmer weather we recommend a hat or at least a hoodie. Something to drink and something to eat.

Is powerkiting dangerous?

Powerkiting and all its forms (land, snow, water) is, like other adrenaline sports, a technically demanding sport that can cause injury. However, at the recreational level and with proper handling of powerkiting equipment, the risk is virtually zero. Powerkiting becomes dangerous when overestimating one’s own strength and when making poor judgments about one’s own kite handling skills (kita).

How can I pay for the course?

You can pay either by bank transfer to our account or in cash at the course location.

Is the course physically demanding, do I need a medical certificate?

Our courses are available to everyone. You do not need any medical certificate, the physical and health demands of the course are no higher than for normal sports such as cycling. Our courses can safely handle both a child and a fragile girl.

I don’t have any pads!

Don’t worry we have plenty of protective equipment and everything from knee pads, elbow pads to helmets we are happy to lend you. Included in the price of your course.
