AEROS Explorer V04

AEROS comes with a completely redesigned version of the three-spire kite – the Explorer model. The previous version of the kite has been very successful in our school and has become a favorite of recreational kitesurfers for its comfortable and predictable handling, stability and large wind range.

What’s different about the new AEROS Explorer? Apart from the basic shape of the airframe, which has more elongated ears and increased aspect ratio, the basic modelling of the fins has changed towards a (slightly) higher upward bulge. At the same time, the weight of the whole canopy has been reduced quite noticeably. What does it bring? Absolutely ultimate performance in light winds (both due to the fin modelling and the weight of the canopy), great reaction time when spinning the canopy and excellent upwind performance.

We tested sizes 11, 13 and 17qm. The largest size, dare we say, is currently the best low wind inflatable we have ever ridden (and we have ridden many). Even the 17qm size now rises perfectly upwind.   AEROS tuned this and finally after years of testing large three-spire kites came out with a 17qm size that has very good performance and wind uplift. Those who ride know how other brands of tri-spirals do in these sizes ;).

The AEROS Explorer V04 has a leading edge sewn from a new type of dacron with a full mesh, new types of all valves and transitions between the main bank and the spars are already standard.

Other classic features such as easy restart from the water, stability at the edge of the wind window and a wide wind range are also standard, we do not need to elaborate further.

At the same time, AEROS is coming up with a new design that will guide the design of all its inflatable “toys” in the coming years.

In summary, the new Explorer is excellent for recreational pilots and will also be very pleasing to old school trick riders. However, they will have more fun with the five-spire AEROS Cruiser V03, which jumps higher but also needs more wind. The AEROS Explorer V04 is a true “low wind” and can ride nicely even when others have their kite on the water, so it also performs very well in stronger conditions.
