FUTURE MUCHO – Mercedes between the planks

For this season I decided to change the main model of the twintip board I will be riding and training on. So far, in more than 9 years of riding on the water, I have tried many boards from different companies and for the last 4 years I have been riding top boards from the Czech manufacturer FUTURE. The company offers several models for different performance categories. I’ve been riding the JIGGY model since 2017 and occasionally I’ve thrown the BOSS model under my feet, which far exceeds my riding skills but still fit perfectly.

FUTURE MUCHO – personal experience

But now let’s focus on the MUCHO model, which is different in its parameters from both the JIGGA and the BOSS model and financially falls between these two boards. I started riding the MUCHO at the beginning of this season.

MUCHO is wider than JIGGY and has a differently shaped bottom. The thin edge of the board is classic for all FUTURE models. MUCHO has a medium rocker, the tops of the board are quite soft. The rocker provides a medium “pop” of the board and the soft tips in turn provide more comfortable impacts and smoother “choopy” through the water. The board does not require such aggressive handling as the BOSS or JIGGY models, which are designed for wakestyle use.

The MUCHO is characterized by a bulge from the bottom middle of the board (the so-called FISH BELLY), which promotes really soft impacts and a noticeably smoother (non-flapping) passage through the waves on the water surface. Compared to the JIGGY a very noticeable difference. Thanks to these parameters MUCHO is made for fans of “old school” tricks, high flights and hard (with MUCHO softer) impacts. MUCHO doesn’t need as much speed to fly as JIGGY or BOSS, which require more aggressive handling.

I like to use comparisons to cars when comparing planks. MUCHO is a Mercedes among boards, JIGGY is more of a sports car and BOSS is a very race oriented sports car requiring aggressive and precise piloting.

FUTURE boards are among the best on the market, usually far superior to foreign manufacturers in quality and features.

SPECIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE FUTURE MUCHO KITEBOARD

The MUCHO is a comfortable board with a regulated speed to make the ride as smooth and comfortable as possible. Thanks to the FISH BELLY (bottom bulge) the board goes very easily into the slip and absorbs shocks arising on choppy water or during impacts.

The board helps in climbing, starting, handling gusts, and even in impacts. The fish belly also pushes the toe up, so it is possible to transfer weight to the front foot without the board “digging in”.

Sizes of the FUTURE MUCHO kiteboard:

129, 134, 138, 142

Colours: red or yellow

Kiteboarding materials:

For 2020, basalt fabric was used as a novelty on the underside of the board. The stiffness of the board has been increased and the vibrations transmitted to the feet have been reduced.

The response of the board to a change of direction has been refined. You are more in control of your turning.

  • stainless steel inserts
  • pawlovnia
  • ICP foils
  • direct digital UV printing

KITEBOARDING TECHNOLOGY FUTURE MUCHO

FISH BELLY was launched by FUTURE in 2008. Since then, the popularity of this design has continued to grow and its technology and shape has been improving.

The core design, which is only used by FUTURE KITING, consists of several layers. The layers are only glued together during lamination and after bending. This way the kiteboards don’t tend to straighten over time and keep the same ROCKER. This design also achieves many times less tension in the core.

This makes the kiteboards more stable in shape and more precise in control. This design also allows the production of ultra-thin kiteboards with high performance. The JIGGY, for example, has an overall thickness of just 8 mm.
