GENERAL INFORMATION – MAURICIUS KITESURFING TRIP
Mauritius is referred to as the pearl of the Indian Ocean. Perhaps Mark Twain said that God created Mauritius first and then paradise on earth. The island is a true multi-ethnic place. Indians (Hindus) predominate here, both Christians and Muslims are represented, and everything is intertwined with Creole culture and music. This reflects both the gastronomy and the overall character of the island and the places to visit. There are monumental Hindu temples, mosques, churches. Interesting museums, gardens, beautiful beaches, views of the whole island, waterfalls and good food. The island is safe and has an overall very relaxed atmosphere.
Kitting is possible almost everywhere. There is a shallow lagoon for teaching (Le Morne), but there are also excellent spots with waves for wavekiting and many beaches with clear water. We go to different places around the island according to the forecast.
This trip is not just a kiting trip, we visit a very nice sugar and rum museum, a rainforest, a Hindu temple, Chamarel park, several waterfalls, markets in Port Luis or Flack. We will climb a hill from which you can see the whole island, we will look into the jungle or into the unique botanical garden, we will snorkel in beautiful places with corals and lots of life. We can scuba dive with instruments (min. OWD license), fly on a parachute and generally explore the island completely. We adapt the program to the group and individual interests.
Accommodation
We have accommodation in nice four-bed apartments with sea view, near the first kite spots. Within walking distance to shops and the town of La Gaullete.
Layout of accommodation
Double rooms with balcony, well-equipped and nice kitchen, shower, toilet, terrace, situated in four-bedded spacious apartments. Garden with barbecue, mango trees, coconut palms and parking right in front of the accommodation.
Shops and services
Every day we will pass many local shops and shopping centres where it will be possible to make smaller and larger purchases of food and souvenirs. We will have 2-3 cars on loan, so individual trips will of course be common.
Transport
Transportation to the place is by air from Prague with a change in London or Paris. Overall, the flight takes around 12 hours and is not at all bothersome. On the island, where you drive on the left, we then move around in rented cars and choose the daily program according to the weather forecast. We will have at least 2 cars available, so individual trips will of course also be possible.
